It was Valentine’s Day and my boyfriend and I were sitting down at our favorite restaurant when the idea for a store named, “The Autumn Acorn” was born. We made a list of the items we would like to see in the shop such as chunky blankets and ponchos, handmade tree bark buttons, hanging doorknob baskets, knitting needles, crochet hooks, patterns, etc. We decided that all of our items would be inspired by nature. Fast forward to today, and that dream has become a reality.
“The Autumn Acorn” is not my only shop, I also own and operate a newborn photography prop shop called, “Prop Shop” where I have well over 6,000 sales under my belt. As a full time teacher by day, I am limited in the amount of time I have to create and dream up new creations, however I always take advantage of my long summer breaks. As I continue on this journey of entrepreneurship, I will need to decide whether or not I want or need to continue teaching.
